Wall Preparation For Wallpaper Installation - My Wall Space

Wallpaper Preparation Information

With many homes, offices and commercial spaces now using “wash & wear’ paints with repellent additives, wall decals and wallpapers will not adhere to these walls.

Preparing your room for wallpaper can either be a simple or a more complicated process, depending on the current condition and surface type of the walls. Your wall needs to be painted to a SMOOTH finish for a successful wallpaper installation.

Viponds Prep Coat has been especially formulated to enhance adhesion of self-adhesive products on internal and external surfaces. It is a low VOC water-based paint that will dry quickly with minimal odour. Available in Low Sheen and Semi-Gloss sheen. The product can be tinted to an unlimited range including Pantone, RAL and Australian standards.

What is a Viponds Self-Adhesive Prep Coat paint, and what is its purpose?

Viponds Self Adhesive Prep Coat is a specially formulated, low-VOC, water-based top coat designed to ensure maximum adhesion of self-adhesive films. It creates a uniform substrate, dries quickly with minimal odour and significantly reduces issues like bubbling, peeling and premature wear. This results in a professional and long-lasting finish, making it essential for applications where the visual integrity of custom printed wallcoverings is paramount.

*Note - Because every wallpaper order is custom printed on demand, we cannot guarantee colour accuracy for separately placed orders. We highly recommend ordering approximately 15% to 20% more than you calculated. This ensures that you have enough wallpaper to cover the project. Feel free to contact us for assistance with your order.
