What is Vector Art?

Vector art is a digital art form where graphics are created using mathematical formulas rather than pixels via a vector-based software. This allows the artwork to be scaled to any size without losing quality, which is particularly valuable for printed media and wall art where resizing images without degradations is very important.

Some of the most common styles we see in vector art are flat designs, where simple lines and clean, solid colours are used in icons, pop art and illustrations, line art, where straight or curved lines are used against a plain background, where geometric shapes are used for a more abstract look, cartoons, where bold outlines and bright colours are used to create characters for wall art, media and animation.

Digital Art Print Information

Rolled Wall Art Paper and Canvas Prints

We only sell our wall art in a rolled form / Not framed.

Rolled wall art refers to art prints, on canvas or paper, that are shipped in a rolled-up format rather than framed or mounted. We use this method for reducing shipping costs and making it easier to transport the artwork, and for our customers to choose their own framing options and styles to frame our wall art themselves.

Sorry but My Wall Space do not offer or supply any type of framing for our wall art at this stage.

Please note: For art prints on paper select from the dropdown White Border: YES or NO when ordering your print.

If you wish for your print to have a white border (which means a few CM of unprinted white space around all four sides of the printed area included in the print size dimensions.

Select YES with White Border, which will mean your print will look like our website images we list. This is not a mount card or matting in the frame, but a few centimetres of white unprinted border for a contemporary look for when you frame your print – this adds a decorative and element and protects the edges of the wall art print

Select NO White Border if you want the print to fill the entire sheet. This will mean the artwork will be printed completely ‘edge to edge’ with NO white border appearance.

Please note: For art prints on canvas, select from the dropdown Mirror Edge or White Border.

We only do WHITE BORDERS for our Canvas Prints NO coloured borders.

Select Mirror Edges if you are going to have your rolled canvas print stretched onto a timber frame. We print your canvas print with a mirror bleed border of 4cm / 40mm for wrapping your print around the timber frame

What is a Mirror Edge Border? This is a cloned section of the image and flipped horizontally and vertically as if we are holding a mirror up to your photo. It’s this part that then bleeds around the edges of your timber frame.

Only Select White Border Options if you are going to have your canvas print framed in a picture frame.

Select YES with White Border, this is not a mount card or matting in the frame, but a few centimetres of white unprinted border for a contemporary look for when you frame your print in a picture or photo frame – this adds a decorative and element and protects the edges of the wall art print.

What is Satin Finish?

Satin finishes have a soft, smooth, semi-glossy surface with a slightly reflective quality, that adds a subtle sheen to the colours and details of your image. A Satin finish is also ideal for vibrant and colourful images as it makes the colours appear more vivid and dynamic, as it effectively brings out highlights and details in fine art prints

Select a Satin Finish when your wall art will be displayed in an area with moderate to low ambient light, a satin finish will provide better visibility in dim conditions.

What is Matte Finish?

Matte photo papers, in contrast, present non-reflective, soft, and subtle appearance. Ideal for digital fine art and photography where detail and subtlety are key. Offering softer, muted colours, matte provides a natural appearance ideal for black-and-white images or those with subtle tones.

Choose a matte finish for a non-reflective, soft, and classic look. This quality makes matte finishes a good choice for digital Art prints displayed in a brightly lit areas or any place where there might be glare and where wall art is intended to be viewed up close.

A print created from a digital file utilizing inkjet or other printing technology is referred to as a digital fine art print. The fact that these prints are of a high calibre is what is meant by the term “fine art.”
An artist uses a digital procedure to produce fine art prints. The print is made by the artist using a range of equipment and software before being applied to a substrate like paper or canvas. Using pigment-based inks and archival quality paper and canvas, digital fine art prints are frequently produced, guaranteeing long-term colour stability.

Digital art refers to any artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process. It can also refer to computational art that uses and engages with digital media. Digital art can be purely computer-generated or taken from other sources, such as a scanned photograph or an image drawn using vector graphics software using a mouse or graphics tablet. Artworks are considered digital paintings when created similarly to non-digital paintings but using software on a computer platform and digitally outputting the resulting image as painted on canvas.
